Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. In the following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat was a track she sang together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. They then teamed up on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same name. This track, which was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
