Anushka Sharma was born on 1st May 1988 in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Her parents were Kumar Sharma & Ashima Sharma. Anushka's father is an officer in the colonel (retd.) Her mother is also a housewife. Anushka's elder brother Karnesh Sharma was in the Merchant Navy and now is an actor. Anushka Sharma completed her schooling from Army School, Bangalore and has pursued an undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka Sharma is a graduate with a Master's degree in Economics. Anushka did not want to acting, but was more interested in becoming a reporter or model. Anushka joined Elite Model Management after graduating and was trained by Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. Anushka's debut as a fashion model was in 2017, in which she was a model with Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week followed by being chosen by Rodricks to be a model at his Spring Summer 2007 collection. Anushka Sharma has been involved in a variety of brand-related campaigns after her Lakme Fashion Week debut. These include campaigns with Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling career, attended an acting class and began giving auditions for films. Anushka Sharma's first acting role was in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi featuring Shah Rukh Khan. In order to prepare for the screen-test, Anushka Sharma took a full day. After that, she was contracted for three movies under the Yash Raj Films banner. She was a young wife to an actor of middle age (Shah Rukh Khan) in the film. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010 Anushka Sharma starred in the film "Badmash Co' alongside Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang. The movie received mixed critiques. Anushka was also seen with Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she portrayed a Punjabi middle-class girl who launched her own venture. It received favorable reviews and was a surprise hit. Anushka's contract for three films at Yash Raj Films ended with Band Baaja Baraat.
